The Dutch research universities are academic centres of excellence in research and teaching. At Dutch research universities, research and teaching interlock to provide unique experiences for both students and researchers. Traditionally open-minded and cosmopolitan, the Dutch research universities are internationally well connected and attach great importance to cooperation and interaction not only with academic institutions abroad but also with society and the private sector. Within disciplines and accross disciplines, Dutch researchers cooperate, benefiting from the small size of the Netherlands. English as language of instruction and research is widely accepted at Dutch research universities. Excellent working conditions and career perspectives make them uniquely attractive for national and international talent.
