Chulabhorn's Research institute intensify medical research collaboration with Dutch Research universities
During 12 September to 16 September 2016, Prof. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol visited the Netherlands. The purpose of the Royal visit is to intensify medical research collaboration with Chulabhorn’s Research Center and the three Dutch Research Universities; Erasmus University Medical Center, Utrecht university and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
According the Thai Princess there is not enough research integrated in the curriculum of Thailand’s medical education and therefore international collaboration on research is needed to improve the institutes medical education system.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Eramus MC on 20 September 2016, where she agreed on collaboration with Erasmus MC in the areas of research and education on area’s such as Clinical Genetics, ENT and Plastic surgery.
Furthermore, there is a well-established partnership with Utrecht University, where research is conducted on biomedical and toxicological research in the field of chemo prevention. Besides this, students from Utrecht’s Master’s programme in Toxicology and Environmental Health travel to the Chulabhorn Research Institute to perform a research internship.
